Tong Interchange is located at M54 junction 3, to the northwest of Wolverhampton. It was constructed along with that motorway in 1983, and has seen no changes to its junction layout during its life.
It is located very near to the village of Weston-under-Lizard and Weston Park, the location of the annual V Festival, and so the junction sees massive tailbacks on one weekend per year. Westbound signage along M54 reflects this, with the unusual destination ordering of "Whitchurch A41 Weston", meaning that Weston-under-Lizard at a population of under 500 is one of the smallest settlements in England to be signed from the motorway network.
A short distance to the south of the junction is the RAF Museum (including the National Cold War Museum) at RAF Cosford.
