For the current route in Mansfield, see A6009.
In the original 1922 road numbering, A6009 was allocated to the road running between Budby and Worksop in Nottinghamshire.
The road started in Old Market Square in the centre of Worksop. The A57 used to TOTSO here from Bridge Street into Potter Street and the A6009 continued south into Park Street. After leaving town the road crossed the wooded landscape of the Dukeries, with the Welbeck estate on the right and Clumber estate on the left. Occasional minor roads and private drives led off at either side. Presently the road crossed the River Poulter, which formed a water feature in both estates, before continuing on to end on the A616 to the north of Budby.
The road was renumbered B6005 in the 1970s then most of it became the B6034 in the 1980s following the construction of the A57 Worksop bypass, with the remaining section being declassified.
