This article is about the Class III road numbered C8 maintained by East Ayrshire Council. For other roads numbered C8, see C8.
The C8 starts on the B7038 in the Riccarton area of Kilmarnock, and heads south along Old Street, passing under the A71, to rejoin the B7038 at a roundabout. There is then a break, as the next bit has been stopped up, but the route resumes across the B7072 as Craigie Road, and runs south. The council list states that the route follows Treesbank Road and Langside Avenue to reach Loreny Drive, even though maps suggest that Lainshaw Avenue to the west has always been the more important route. Along the way, three suburban roundabouts and two TOTSOs are encountered, before Loreny Drive passes under the A77 bypass to leave the town behind. The route then runs south to the council boundary near Craigie, with the road continuing to meet the A719.
