The C33 starts at the Grassyards Interchange on the A77, and initially runs south alongside the main road, before turning to the east. The original line, before the Kilmarnock bypass was built, can be found as Lindsay Drive, connecting to the B7082. Meandering eastwards, the route climbs up and crosses the Volga Burn twice as it reaches Moscow and the A719.
