The B7082 is a link road heading north east from Kilmarnock town centre. The route was originally unclassified but gained its number when Grassyards Interchange on the A77 bypass was opened.
The route starts at the northeast corner of the A735 Kilmarnock one-way system and initially heads north over the Kilmarnock Water. It then bear round to the right through trees to head east along Strawberrybank Road. At the top of the hill the road is lined with houses on the left looking out across Kay Park, and descends gently to reach a roundabout. Here the route turns left onto Grassyards Road, passing between a school and a cemetery. The route then becomes residential, although the houses are set back behind service roads on both sides. A block of newer houses on the right then back onto the main road, and shortly after the route reaches its end at Grassyards Interchange, a diamond GSJ on the A77 bypass. The unclassified road ahead continues to reach the A719.
