Sandyford Interchange – that is to say, junction 14 of the M50 in County Dublin – is a complex grade-separated junction connecting the motorway to the N31, R113, and R133.
Direct access to and from the motorway here is limited to:
- an onslip leading from the R113 and R133 to the "southbound" M50 (which actually runs south-eastward at this point)
- an onslip leading from the N31 to the "northbound" carriageway (headed westward on the ground)
- an offslip leading from the "southbound" carriageway to the N31
- an offslip leading from the "northbound" carriageway to the R113 and R133 (this exit is actually labelled "13" for some reason).
The "missing links" are provided by a pair of one-way sections of the R113 (running one on each side of the motorway and paralleling it) which connect this junction to the Ballinteer Interchange (junction 13) 1.5 km to the west.
The junction opened in 2004 as a short extension from J13. The M50 east of here opened in 2005, in a project which was initially titled "South Eastern Motorway - Southern Section".
Before it was built, a small roundabout, close to the site of the present one, marked the end of the motorway and the start of the improved Leopardstown Road towards the N11.
