The R133 is a short link road running north-by-northwest from the M50 south of Dublin to the R112 in the suburb of Goatstown in Dún Laoghaire - Rathdown.
Named the Drummartin Link Road, it is mostly S2, aside from a short D2 as it nears the M50. It was built along part of the path reserved for the South Eastern Motorway, which was cancelled at the time this road opened but is now proposed again. Combined with the Mount Anville Road, it provides a faster route south than the main N11.
The road also subsumes a short section of the earlier R825 which effectively multiplexes along this section. The R133 includes a bridge over the Luas light rail line.
The exit for Sandyford is odd. The two lanes of the dual carriageway are for turning right only, with a new lane for the R133 appearing on the left and branching off before the fast road from Ballinteer can join. The whole thing happens very quickly and is easily miss.
