The R113 is an outer suburban peripheral road on the west and south sides of Dublin. It follows a similar route to that of the southern part of the M50.
Starting in the west at Junction 4 of the N4 in Fonthill, South Dublin, it runs to the coast at Blackrock in Dún Laoghaire - Rathdown by way of Clondalkin, Tallaght, Junction 12 of the M50, Ballyboden, Sandyford, and Junctions 13 and 14 of the M50 at Sandyford.
A 1976 study of the road described Leopardstown Road as being in "very poor condition", and Harold's Grange Road as "overloaded".
