Wigan is a town situated in Lancashire, northwest of Manchester.
History
Inner Ring Road (A577)
Phase 1 from Wigan Pier to the King Street / Chapel Lane junction was opened on 27 February 1986 by George Lockett, Mayor. Contractor was Budge, cost £1.2 million. Phase 2 to Coppull Lane and Wigan Lane new junction was due to be completed in May 1987.
