The A6185, Dunkenhalgh Way, Church

The A6185 forms the purpose built Hyndburn Link connecting the A678 with the A679 via M65 junction 7. It was opened in 1984 along with the motorway and originally was National Speed Limit. Today is it a mix of 30 and 50 mph, and is dualled throughout.

Originally the road continued east along Hyndburn Road to meet the A680 in Accrington but the A679 was rerouted in the early 1990s to avoid a heavily built-up area.
