The A6194 is the Wakefield Eastern Relief Road, and was opened on 27 April 2017 by Peter Box, Leader of Wakefield Council. It is a single-carriageway road throughout and includes a new crossing of the River Calder. It cost £33m.
The road is fairly undulating over the landscape, with numerous side road provisions for future development. It is clear that this route, despite being signposted for traffic to bypass the centre of Wakefield is actually a distributor road to support new housing, industrial, and commercial areas around the town.
On the 20 March 2018 the road was officially named Neil Fox Way, after the Rugby League player.
