The B1506, running along the border between Cambridgeshire and Suffolk, is in effect a long sliproad between the A1304 (former route of the A11 through Newmarket) and the A14 east of that town. The road was originally part of the A45 (the old number of the A14 in this area).
Starting on the A1304 the B1506 heads northeastwards along a dead-straight road alongside a wood and past areas associated with horse upkeep. It's not long before we reach the village of Kennett End, where we are crossed by the B1085, and then go over a stream into Kentford. The village peters out and we cross the Icknield Way before the road becomes the east-facing slip roads of A14J39. Two unclassified roads also thread their way through this junction.
