The B1501 is a link road through the southern suburbs of Scunthorpe. The road was built in the 1960s to serve the expansion of the town.
The road starts on the A159 Messingham Road and heads east along Chancel Road, going over a double mini-roundabout which replaces a crossroads, running onto Grange Lane South on the far side. Presently the road, which has been fairly straight up to this point, turns sharply left and continues to meet the B1450 at traffic lights and then crosses a green space to go over the A18 at the next set of lights.
We continue on along Grange Lane North. The road now crosses a grassed area with houses some distance back on both sides but it's not long before we enter an industrial area, with buildings actually lining the road. After a dead-straight run we bear right to end at traffic lights on the A1029, with the steelworks on the far side.
