Route
The A311 is a short urban A-road in the London Borough of Richmond, running to the west of Bushy Park.
Twickenham - Hampton
The road starts at Twickenham Green, bearing left where the A305 bears right. The third side of the Green is called First Cross Road. The next few side turnings on the right are called, imaginatively, Second Cross Road, Third Cross Road, Trafalgar Road, Fourth Cross Road, and Fifth Cross Road. These all cut across to the A305.
The sequence ends at Sixth Cross Road, which is part of the B358, a useful link from Kingston and Teddington to the A316 when the Upper Sunbury Road is congested. The A311 continues southwards to Hampton Hill and then skirts Bushy Park on the left, crossing the Longford River before meeting the A312 (improbably but accurately named Uxbridge Road).
It then follows Hampton High Street before bearing left along Church Street (the remainder of the High Street is the tiny A3008) to meet the A308 and the River Thames in a very awkward junction in Hampton Village.
