This article is about the present B3044 along Stockbridge Road in Winchester.
For the original B3044 along North Walls in the same city, see B3044 (North Walls, Winchester).
For the original B3044 along North Walls in the same city, see B3044 (North Walls, Winchester).
The present B3044 in Winchester is a short link road which runs along the eastern part of Stockbridge Road, passing through a tunnel beneath the railway at the north end of Winchester station and connecting the B3049 (which runs along the western section of Stockbridge Road) to the B3330.
The road was originally numbered B3045 and renumbered B3044 for no apparent reason at an unknown date - quite why it was not simply numbered as an extension of B3330 (or vice versa) is equally unknown.
