This article is about the Class III road numbered C248 maintained by Cambridgeshire Council.
For other roads numbered C248, see C248.
For other roads numbered C248, see C248.
The C248 maintained by Cambridgeshire Council starts on the C233 south of Cherry Hinton and heads in a south westerly direction across open countryside to Great Shelford. At the roundabout with the A1307 is a large park and ride for Cambridge.
Different parts of the road act as rat runs for traffic trying to avoid the built up areas of Cambridge; a situation that could have been partially alleviated by allowing traffic from the east of Cambridge to use the Addenbrooke's Access road to meet the M11.
It is described in the freedom of information request[1] as being:
C248 HINTON WAY GREAT SHELFORD
C248 CHERRY HINTON ROAD GREAT SHELFORD
C248 STATION ROAD GREAT SHELFORD
C248 LIMEKILN ROAD CAMBRIDGE
