History
Before the Relief Road it was a six exit square where B5066 Gaol Road from the north-east met the south-north A34 between Gaolgate Street and Foregate Street, as it passed through the town. The other roads were unclassified. On the west side was Bull Hill and Mount Street. Back Walls North came in from the south-east.
