Worsley Interchange is junction 13 of the M60 and was junction 13 of the M62. It was originally junction 6 of the M62.
It was originally a staggered junction between the A572 and A575.The south-eastern roundabout dates from 1960 and was the north end of the original M62. The other roundabout dates from 1970 when the M62 was extended.
Just to the south, the carriageways of the original M62 separated slightly to cross the Bridgewater Canal by two separate bridges, each carrying two lanes and no hard shoulder. One now carries the southbound on-slip. The other was either widened to form, or demolished and replaced by, the present main bridge. The view from below suggests that the old bridge perhaps forms the middle third of the present main bridge.
