B603 was a number briefly proposed by Calderdale Council in early 2013 for the current section of the A6033 between Hebden Bridge and Haworth, Yorkshire.
The road is very narrow and twisty, although in the 1930s this formed the most direct route between Rochdale and Skipton (refer to the A6033 page for further details).
As part of a programme to update direction signs to accurately reflect appropriate routes for HGVs, the proposal was brought about as a means of discouraging through traffic relying on Sat Nav systems as algorithms often determine routes by classification. This was also intended to remove the need to promote costly and difficult to enforce Traffic Regulation Orders.
In May 2013, the proposal was cancelled as agreement could not be secured with neighbouring authorities with regards to funding and network management.
