The A6026 is a very short, but important, road in Calderdale linking the A629 to the A58 and providing a complete bypass of the Halifax urban area. It also gives access to the massive data centre owned by Lloyds (originally the HBOS Copley offices – buses still refer to HBOS!), and manages a substantial pair of 40 mph limits.
The route starts at two adjacent sets of traffic lights on the A629. The two spurs meet at a mini-roundabout after which we head west, crossing the Calder & Hebble Navigation and then following the cut upstream. We go under railway lines either side of Copley, after which there's a short dual section to serve the Lloyds offices. After entering Sowerby Bridge we end at traffic lights on the A58 to the east of the town centre.
Originally, the A6026 cannoned off the A629 and continued south to end on the A6025 (now B6114) in Greetland. This section is now the B6112.
Other than that, there is little of interest. This really is a local road for local people!
