For the current A282, that is part of the London Orbital, see A282.
The A282 number was originally used for a short road in Sussex between the A281 at Broadbridge Heath and the A29 at Five Oaks. This was renumbered as an extension of the A264 between 1934 and 1936, probably as part of the 1935 Road numbering revision. The section in Broadbridge Heath is now unclassified following the construction of a bypass.
