Dunblane West Junction lies, as its name suggests, on the western side of Dunblane, and connects the A9 Dunblane Bypass to the A820. The junction is a Diamond Interchange, with the A820 passing over the A9 bypass, and slip roads providing access and exit from the dual carriageway. The A820 starts on the A84 to the west in Doune and terminates on the former A9, now the B8033 in Dunblane town centre to the east. The junction is little used by traffic from Dunblane, which is more likely to join the A9 to the north or south of the town, but is a useful link to the west, particularly for traffic between the Trossachs area and Perth to the east.
