The Mungalend Roundabout lies to the north of Falkirk and is primarily designed to provide access to the industrial areas along the canal to the south. The A9 here was built in the early 1990s to relieve the town centre of through traffic, and also give better access to the industrial areas that ring the north of the town. The roundabout is a simple 3 arm junction, with the A9 crossing from east to west, using a former railway line, and Mungalend leading south into the industrial estate.
