Route outline (key)
B5408 Link in Blackrod
Church Street

The B5408 follows the original line of the A6 through Blackrod Village. The road dates to the construction of the bypass in the 1930s.

The road turns off the A6 at traffic lights at the southern end of the bypass and heads northwest along Manchester Road into Scot Lane End. The B5238 soon comes in from the left then our number is dominant in a multiplex which lasts until that road turns right on the near side of Blackrod itself.

We continue on into town, with the main shopping centre being on Church Street. Chorley Road is then descended and we pass a couple of fields, soon reaching journey's end at a T-junction back on the A6.
