The former Walnut Tree pub on the B5425 in Rhosddu, Wrexham
The B5425 runs from the former coal-mining village of Llay to Rhosddu in the northern suburbs of Wrexham. The road was originally unclassified but gained its number after World War II.
The road starts at a roundabout on the B5102 by the Llay Miners' Welfare Institute and heads south along the residential Llay New Road. It's not long before we reach open country then we pass a golf course before descending to cross the River Alyn. After climbing out of the valley we skirt the eastern edge of Bradley before reaching the edge of Wrexham. We go over the Wrexham to Chester railway line then the A483 bypass.
We now follow New Road back to the railway line and follow it briefly into town. After turning away the B5101 bears off to the right (it needs sufficient space to drop down to go under the line). We then follow Rhosddu Road into the town centre, ending at a roundabout on the A5152 ring road.
