Inveravon Roundabout marks the eastern end of the A905, with the A904 taking over to continue east towards Edinburgh. The junction lies on the southern edge of the vast Grangemouth refinery site, and is a three arm roundabout, with the A905 heading west and the A904 turning from east to north. The line of the A905 was formerly the B904, but was upgraded in the mid 1970s, after the M9 opened, to improve connections between the new motorway and the refinery site. The road is still shown as the B904, without a roundabout in place, on the 1974 OS One Inch map. The A905-A904 route also provides the main connection between Bo'ness and the westbound motorway.
