The A23 is a short A-road in northern County Down.
The road starts to the east of Belfast city centre, at a gyratory on the A2 and A20. The road heads south, turning left at the next set of traffic lights to zigzag through the suburbs. Eventually the road reaches open country and climbs into the hills, with a short D1 section on one of the bends before the cemetery.
The remainder of the road is more-or-less straight, although nowhere near flat. Ballygowan is soon reached and the road ends here at a roundabout on the A21.
