The C302 consists of an urban loop on the southern edge of Belfast. Located in between the A24 and the A55, the loop is comprised of Purdysburn Road on its southern edge, Beechill Road on its northern edge and Newtownbreda Road on its western edge. Purdysburn Road and Beechill Road meet at a roundabout from which a short link can be used to reach the A24. At the other end of Purdysburn Road the C302 extends slightly beyond the loop to meet the B205 at a traffic-controlled junction close to the village of Purdysburn. Along Newtownbreda Road is a roundabout where a link can be used to access the A55 nearby. The C302 continues along Newtownbreda Road north of the loop before eventually meeting the A55 as well and also includes another short link road just north of the main loop.
