The A722 heads east out of the Lanarkshire town of Wishaw for just under two miles.
Commencing at its western end at the East Cross in Wishaw ,at a junction with the A721 and B7032, the road heads north east as Kirk Road and then as Cambusnethan Street in the Cambusnethan district. It becomes Manse Road before ending at a roundabout junction with the A71 and A73 in Newmains.
