The C524 is a short route in northern County Durham, to the south of Sunderland. It begins at a roundabout on the A182 in the village of Easington Lane and heads south-west up Elemore Lane. It curves down though a vale before climbing steeply to reach the hamlet of Hetton-le-Hill. The C524 ends here as it reaches the local authority boundary, but Elemore Lane continues to the village of High Pittington.
