For the other B3330 in Winchester, see B3330 (Winchester).
The B3330 is a semi-rural B-road on the Isle of Wight.
It starts in Ryde at the junction of Star Street and the High Street (north of this point the High Street is now pedestrianized), running first south, and one-way, for 180 m. The B3330 then turns left at a set of traffic lights into St John's Road and becomes two-way. It crosses the railway line by St John's Road station (a rare example of a multi-platform station on the island) before zigzagging to meet the A3055 at a T-junction.
The route multiplexes east along the A3055 for 150 m before regaining its number at a mini-roundabout. It then zigzags east through Pondwell before reaching Nettlestone, where the B3340 comes in from the left at a triangular junction. The B3330 now heads south and passes St Helen's Church before zigzagging for over half a mile to reach the village of St Helens.
There is a sharp right turn into the narrow main road, which soon reaches the village green and skirts it to the north. At the far end of the green is a mini-roundabout from which the B3395 (incorrectly signed B3390) departs left towards Bembridge. The B3330 continues westward for another mile and a half to end where it meets the A3055 once again, at the Rowborough Corner traffic lights north of Brading.
History
Originally the B3330 ran only between St Helens and Brading. It was extended back to start on the A3054 in Ryde in 1935, taking over the routes of the B3331 and B3332.
