The B8041 is a short link road in Dunoon. Owing to its short length the road's history is not fully known; it was certainly unclassified in 1922 and had definitely gained its number by 1949. However, based on the known dating of other numbers it seems probable that the B8041 and nearby B8042 numbers were assigned in the early 1930s, but simply too short to mark on small scale mapping.
Starting on the A885 Argyll Street, just north of its junction with the B8042, the road heads east along Queen Street, curving round towards the south to reach the A815 Alexandra Parade, which runs along the shore of the Firth of Clyde. Along the way, the road passes between modern development and Victorian villas in equal measure.
