East Dunbartonshire Council is the Highway Authority for all of the roads in the council area. There are no Transport Scotland Roads in the area. The council area is formed from parts of the historic counties of Dunbartonshire (Bearsden and Kirkintilloch in the detached area); Lanarkshire (Bishopbriggs) and Stirlingshire. As of 2016, Government Statistics say that the council is responsible for 32.4 miles of A roads; 27.1 miles of B roads and 278.1 miles of other roads.
