West Lothian Council

West Lothian Council is the Highway Authority for all the roads in the Council Area except the motorways which are managed by Transport Scotland. The council area is loosely based on the historic county of West Lothian, but includes parts of Midlothian, and a part of the historic county around Bo'ness is within Falkirk Council area. As of 2016, Government Statistics say that the council is responsible for 89.6 miles of A roads; 70.9 miles of B roads and 539.5 miles of other roads. There is an additional 23.3 miles of Motorway within the council area, which are maintained by Transport Scotland.
