Angus Council is the roads authority responsible for all public roads in its area other than the A90, which, as a trunk road, is managed by Transport Scotland on behalf of the Scottish Government. The council use Tayside Contracts to complete a lot of the roads maintenance work. Tayside Contracts originated as the DLO (Direct Labour Organisation) for the former Tayside Regional Council, and is now jointly owned by the three successor authorities as a separate contractor to carry out most of the work required by the councils, from bin collection to leisure centre staff. The council's headquarters are in Forfar. As of 2016, Government Statistics say that the council is responsible for 121.3 miles of A roads; 147.1 miles of B roads and 910.4 miles of other roads. There is an additional 29.1 miles of Trunk roads within the council area, which are maintained by Transport Scotland.
