Swinfen Interchange is a junction near Lichfield in Staffordshire. It was originally constructed in 1969 as part of the A38, and was a straightforward grade separated roundabout with the A446 - the only junction along the bypass.
Later on, the A38 was rerouted on a mixture of new build and renumbered routes in order to bypass Sutton Coldfield. Part of this realignment took over a section of A446 up to the Swinfen Interchange, with the old A38 south of the interchange being renumbered as A5148. Consequently, today one must TOTSO at the junction to remain on the A38, and there are numerous signs north of this junction reminding drivers this, along with a dedicated left hand lane feeding directly onto the roundabout.
