History

In 1963, this junction was the northern terminus of an isolated small section of M5

Whilst by September 1966, the C/D lanes to the north had opened

By September 1967, the flyover had opened

Almondsbury Roundabout marks the northernmost point of the first stretch of M5 near Bristol, which initially opened between here and junction 17 as the Filton Bypass.
