The A9011 is a short link road in the western suburbs of Aberdeen. It appears to have been given its number when the road was built in the 1940s.
We start at traffic lights on the A978 Westburn Drive and head west along Ashgrove Road West (Ashgrove Road itself is the unclassified road heading east from the junction). We climb gently along the road, which is residential, although the houses soon disappear on the left as we skirt the hospital grounds. At the top of the hill there's a set of traffic lights where the unclassified Foresterhill Road heads off to the right to a roundabout on the A92. We, meanwhile, end by meeting the A92 ourselves at a signalised T-junction.
