The A9011 was a short link road in the western suburbs of Aberdeen. It appears to have been given its number when the road was built in the 1930s.
The route started at traffic lights on the former A978, Westburn Drive, and headed west along Ashgrove Road West (Ashgrove Road itself is the unclassified road heading east from the junction). The road climbed gently through a residential area, although the houses soon disappeared on the left as the road skirted the hospital grounds. At the top of the hill there's a set of traffic lights where the unclassified Foresterhill Road heads off to the right to a roundabout on the A92. The A9011, meanwhile, levelled off and ended by meeting the A92 at a signalised T-junction a few hundred metres further on.
The A9011 number first appears on the OS Six Inch map from 1938, and remained on the same route for over 80 years. It lost its number in 2020 following a significant reclassification of routes within Aberdeen.
