The C88C starts as the northern part of the former A96 route along Inverurie Road in Bucksburn. It is not clear if the southern section, to Auchmill Road, is also part of the route. The mainline then turns west along Kepplehills Road, passing through Bucksburn, and becoming Newhills Road as it leaves the urban area behind. The route then comes to an end on the C89C just beyond the church at Holmhead.
