The B145 is a loop off the A2 in County Antrim to serve the coastal village of Portballintrae. It was originally unclassified but gained its number in the late 1920s.
The road starts on the A2 on the western edge of Bushmills and heads northeast, immediately passing Bushmills station on the tourist Giant's Causeway & Bushmills Railway. We run alongside the line briefly and enter Portballintrae as the railway bears off to the right. The residential Ballaghmore Road is followed to a mini-roundabout above the harbour, where the road bears left onto Bayhead Road.
We run along the sea front before being separated from the coast by a few buildings. Presently the coast turns away to the right and the road continues ahead, although this is not obvious until we leave town. The sea is still visible to the right but further away as we continue on to journey's end back on the A2.
