The Marylebone Flyover is a junction where the A404 crosses the A5 Edgware Road (and links the A40 to the A501). There is no exit from the A40 eastbound here, but there are two entrances (from the Harrow Road (A404) and Edgware Road. Westbound that is reversed - exits to the A5 and A404, but traffic cannot join the A40 at the junction.
The junction officially opened on 12 October 1967. It was built as part of the dualling of Marylebone Road.
The flyover itself was named Harrow Road Flyover, but the name Marylebone Flyover is what caught on. The new junction effectively extended Harrow Road over the Gaumont Theatre, the Great Western Hostel and Mitcham Street. The Gaumont Theatre's final show was in April 1961, which gives some idea when construction started.
