The B401 is a short B-road in central London. It occupies the entire length of Endell Street on the edge of the City of Westminster.
Starting on the A40 and A401 at St Giles Circus the road starts off one-way southbound, as it follows a narrow, tree-lined road. At the junction with Betterton Street the B401 TOTSOs right. It opens out and becomes two-way as it continues on to the B402 Long Acre. However, that road in both directions is one-way towards the B401, so traffic is required to continue ahead onto the unclassified Bow Street.
The B401 was originally much longer. It extended south along Bow Street and Wellington Street to the Strand; this is now unclassified. It also extended west along St Giles High Street to reach New Oxford Street; this is now part of the A40.
