The B6456 is a link road in central Berwickshire. It was originally unclassified but gained its number in the late 1920s.
The road starts on the A697 just east of Whiteburn (and a couple of miles away from Lauder) and follows a relatively straight route northeastwards across the fields. A few buildings are passed, after which we reach Westruther, the only place of any size on the road.
We climb through the village and soon reenter open country. Fields give way to open moorland, then we descend to pass through a wood and head eastwards across Camp Moor. We then cross fields once more before a sharp left-hand bend takes us to Choicelee and journey's end at a T-junction on the A6105. Duns is a few miles to the left.
