The B6445 is a short link road in Dukinfield. It was originally unclassified; owing to its short length its history is not fully known but it had gained its current number by the 1936-37 MoT Map.
The route starts on the B6170 Crescent Road, on the bank of the River Tame, and follows Riverside upstream. The next road on the right, Park Road, is a spur of the B6445 which started on the B6170 further south; it is one-way towards us. We now continue along Park Road around a meander before continuing straight to leave the river behind. The road quickly becomes residential but gives way to industry from time to time.
After passing Tower Mill, still in use producing cotton, we give way to the B6431 and then run alongside the Tame once more. At a T-junction we TOTSO right away from the river and then follow Tame Street to end at traffic lights on the old Stalybridge High Street. All three other directions here are numbered B6175.
