The absurdly short B6442 was the western half of Halford Street in Leicester, connecting the A426 Gallowtree Gate with the A6 Charles Street. As it is out of zone in the 1950s when it is first identified on maps, it must be presumed that its creation pre-dates the move of the A6 to the east. The even shorter B5389 one street to the south, however, must post-date the re-routing of the A6.
