The B9116 is a short road in leading from the A96 in Keith to the B9017 at Newmill. Although not classified in 1922, it had been numbered by 1932, with the fact that it passes Keith Station probably helping its cause. Today it also serves as access to the Strathisla Distillery.
Starting at the northern end of Keith, the road heads north along Seafield Avenue, and then curves westwards past the distillery. The road ahead leads down to the station, but the B9116 turns sharp right, and heads north again, curving round the hill before a sharp left turn takes it over the railway and River Isla in quick succession. Newmill is now just a short distance away, and after a crossroads the road winds through some trees to meet the B9017 at the western end of the village. The final section after the crossroads is the original route of the B9017 but it is not yet known whether the B9116 ever ended there.
