For the definite former B9145 in Forfar, see B9145 (Forfar).
The B9145 may have existed briefly in the west of Inverness. Unfortunately, due to difficulty in reading the online map scans, it is not totally clear whether the road existed in the location or not. If the road did exist it would have been a duplicate of the definite B9145 in Forfar but that is no proof of its non-existence.
On the east bank of the River Ness, Shore Street is certainly the former B9146; it is possible that, after a short multiplex with the B9161, that route continued on the west bank. A 1986 1:10000 map clearly shows the route on both sides of the Ness as B9146. However, on some scans of earlier maps, the number looks more like B9145.
This route, therefore, starts on the B9161 Grant Street and heads south, simultaneously using both Telford Road and the parallel Lochalsh Road (unless one is the B9146) to reach Telford Street: then the A9, now the A862. Presumably then, as now, these two narrow streets formed a one-way system through the Merkinch area of Inverness. The route is still shown as an unnumbered B road on the 1988 OS Landranger map, presumably pending the completion of the A82 Shore Street to Rose Street section.
