The B9149 is a short link road in west Fife running between the A92 Lochgelly Bypass and the B981 to the east of the town. The road was newly built, cutting across field boundaries, as part of the A92 bypass project, to provide the main access into the town and nearby villages.
The route starts at a partial dumbbell junction above the A92, with the roundabout at the southern end, from where a minor road turns east to reach Kirkcaldy. It then crosses the dual carriageway and meets the A92 eastbound slips at a crossroads before continuing north along the eastern edge of Lochgelly. It passes through two roundabouts (the second is a later addition to access a housing estate) before terminating on the B981 at a third. The route is wide, straight and well aligned with good sight lines throughout.
