Staffordshire County Council's locally classified C114 runs parallel to M54 just north of the Wolverhampton urban area and forms a link between the A460 (and onwards to the M54 at junction 1) with the commuter and former mining village of Essington.
Starting at a roundabout on the A460 right on the edge of the urban area at Westcroft, it heads eastwards through farmland, with a number of farmhouses being along the side of the road, before passing Essington Farm and Willenhall Rugby Union Club and entering the conurbation once more as it enters the village, before terminating, again at a roundabout, but this with the B4156.
