The A4098 is yet another of the specialist Black Country roads - a thoroughly dull route with little to talk about that nonetheless forms an important part of the road network of the area. Yet, it still manages to venture into three different local authorities!
The route starts on a light-controlled junction with the A41 in the south-east of Wolverhampton, and heads deeper into the Black Country. It meets no other classified roads before its termination, at another light-controlled junction with the A4037, which TOTSOs here.
Its only piece of mildly interesting historical information is that it was originally allocated the number B4164 in 1922 before being rapidly upgraded and receiving its present number in April 1924.
